Stopping Misinformation that Hurts the Black Community
The history of systemic racism in the medical system is a public health threat.

Join an honest and frank discussion that will address the history and impacts of misinformation in the Black community as it relates to public health. The panel will also look to the future and discuss how to obtain public health information and how to vet it to make sure you have accurate information.

This is a chance for Washington’s Black community to get their questions answered and to go beyond state officials and scientists to hear directly from people in the community.

The panel will discuss:
• The Black community and public health
• Five practical tips for securing public health information
• How to prevent falling for misinformation
• How to have open conversations with your family & friends
• What you can do to protect yourself today

Panelists:
• Chris Davis, Prevention and Health Coordinator, PCAF
• Michealea Lemons, Prevention and Health Coordinator, PCAF &
Chair, Tacoma Human Rights Commission
• Korey Strozier, School Board Director, Position 3 with Tacoma Public Schools

Miriam McBride, CEO of Truth Movement Innertainment, will moderate.
